Correct a PAYE filing
Manage a rejected or amended PAYE action with a reviewed proposal and replacement receipt.
Steps2 sections
Use Corrections when an existing PAYE filing receipt is rejected, superseded, or needs amendment. Preserve the original evidence and record the replacement sequence.
Steps
- Review the original receipt
Open the correct employer period and action. Review its Evidence & filing history and the actual authority response.
- Open a follow-up
In Corrections, open a follow-up against the current receipt and record the rejection or correction reason.
- Propose the correction
Compare the pinned baseline and proposed payroll coverage captures. Save a correction proposal with its reason and any internal target.
- Record the review decision
Have an authorised reviewer record a decision. Approve for local handling authorises the local correction workflow; it is not authority approval.
- Attach replacement evidence
Complete the amended work through the official channel, attach the actual replacement receipt, and resolve the follow-up only when the reviewed proposal and evidence permit it.
- Check the history
Check History and the original and replacement receipt lineage. Review payment allocations separately if the correction changes the liability.
Important boundary
Changing a generated file or local status does not amend a TaRMS return. Follow the authority’s correction procedure and retain its response.
