Use Requests Table to find work awaiting a decision. Pending Approval and Awaiting Certification are different review states. Required certification or a blocking policy warning can prevent approval.

Steps

  1. Find the request

Open Time Off → Requests Table. Use status, policy, source, entrant, or date filters; the summary’s pending and certification counts can narrow the table. Open the request details.

  2. Check the policy result

Confirm the employee, dates, source policy, any target balance, counted units, tier allocation, paid/unpaid split, and current policy snapshot. Review the request history and warnings.

  3. Resolve evidence

Check Evidence for the exact policy requirement. An authorised reviewer can add or correct permitted evidence, then Verify it. Revoke verification requires a reason. Confidential evidence must be handled within the allowed reviewer scope.

  4. Handle certification

When the request needs certification, use Request certification where offered and follow up on the outstanding item. Read any deadline or threshold shown by that policy’s quote. Approval remains unavailable while required certification is outstanding.

  5. Record the decision

Select Approve request only after blockers clear and the source evidence supports the decision. A rejection or cancellation requires a reason. Check the resulting status and audit history.

An approved request still needs review in the relevant pay run. The Time Off screen records leave approval; it does not finalise payroll.
