Review My Organisation before adding employees, preparing payroll, or generating statutory outputs.

What this is

The current My Organisation screen shows profile completion, Edit Organisation Profile, Setup Action Center, and Edit statutory profile. The profile includes Business identity, Tenant workspace, Contact and tax profile, Payment methods, and Statutory readiness.

When to use it

Use this after registration, before a first payroll, after changing a legal/profile value, or when the action centre reports payroll or statutory-output attention.

Before you begin

  • Confirm the active organisation and the period you are about to process.
  • Have the approved legal, contact, payroll, and statutory records available.
  • In a bureau workspace, verify the client name before opening or exporting data.

Open My Organisation.

Steps

  1. Check business identity

Read Business identity: legal name, trading name, company type, and industry sector.

  2. Check the tenant workspace

Read Tenant workspace: tenant workspace name, default currency, and payroll scope. Confirm the payroll schedule/period from the linked payroll setup action.

  3. Check contact and tax details

Read Contact and tax profile: primary contact/email/phone/cellphone, business and postal address, and tax office.

  4. Review payment methods

Review Payment methods in Edit Organisation Profile. Check employer bank transfer and mobile money routes, their currencies, and the primary choice against authorised records.

  5. Review statutory settings

Open Edit statutory profile and review Statutory readiness, including identifiers, obligation decisions, default remuneration currency, the default/recommended tax method, and Allow FDS PAYE refunds through payroll. The refund setting is off by default. The tax-method default does not override an employee’s tax-year eligibility or method lock. FDS forecasting estimates annual taxable income from income to date and known regular pay expected for the remaining months.

  6. Resolve action centre items

Read Setup Action Center. Resolve each payroll blocker in its named screen and review any separate Statutory output attention required action.

  7. Save and recheck

Save only intentional changes, then refresh My Organisation and confirm the completion/readiness state changed as expected.

What to check

Identity and contact data match authoritative records, defaults match the intended payroll policy, statutory decisions have evidence/effective dates, and the active organisation is the one being prepared. A Ready for payroll status does not approve statutory filing.

Important boundaries

The review screen reports stored configuration and readiness. It does not make legal determinations, verify bank-account ownership, submit returns, or replace an organisation’s professional review process. Organisation payment methods holds employer routes; Banks is a bank/branch directory; employee receiving routes are maintained on employee profiles.

For employees, a blank NSSA POBS treatment means Automatic (recommended); available employee or organisation evidence determines coverage, while ambiguous or missing evidence pauses calculation with guidance. Once payroll establishes a PAYE method for a tax year, a conflicting change fails closed with a human explanation. The organisation default is a recommendation for eligible employees and never silently decides an employee’s method.

The organisation setting Allow FDS PAYE refunds through payroll and the employee-level FDS refund permission are both off by default. Both are required before payroll can process an overpayment found by FDS averaging. Enabling them authorises processing only and does not create or guarantee a refund; if preview or the payroll wizard pauses, review the two permissions through its separate actions.
