The active Time Off → Bulk Import flow accepts CSV or tab-separated CSV (.tsv) up to its displayed intake limit. Import creates requests; it does not automatically approve them.

Steps

  1. Upload the file

Open Bulk Import and choose a CSV or TSV with a header and at least one request row. A sample can be loaded when an eligible employee and active policy exist.

  2. Map the columns

In Column Mapping, map an employee ID or name, policy code, start date, and end date. Check the detected delimiter and row values.

  3. Preview on the server

Choose whether valid rows should be created as Draft or Submitted, then continue to Server Preview. Read each row’s errors and warnings. Correct the source or mappings when a row cannot be accepted.

  4. Commit selected rows

Review the selected row numbers before committing. Use Import Summary to distinguish created and failed rows; a partial result does not mean the whole batch succeeded.

  5. Review created requests

Return to Requests Table. Filter by Bulk Import source and inspect the resulting policy, dates, evidence needs, and status. Submit drafts or review submitted requests through the normal approval flow.

Policy validation, evidence requirements, and reviewer permissions still apply after intake. Keep the batch result for reconciliation; do not rerun successful rows merely because other rows failed.
