The Time & Attendance area has three concrete workspaces: weekly timesheets, time-off requests, and time-off policy definitions. They are separate records with separate validation and status actions.

What this is

  • Time Tracking records weekly employee hours through direct entry or CSV/XLSX import. The list exposes review status, variance, hours breakdown, and payroll impact.
  • Time Off records leave requests against active policies. Its Requests Table, Gantt Timeline, and Bulk Import support review, scheduling, and intake. A submitted request can wait for certification before approval.
  • Time Off Policies starts with Templates or Create policy and uses a builder for entitlement, payroll treatment, jurisdiction rules, evidence, effective dates, and versioning. The Policy list manages published policies and employee assignments.

Before you begin

Select an active organisation and confirm the employee population. Timesheets require active employees configured for timesheet capture. Time-off requests require an active policy assigned to the employee.

Choose the correct workflow

Use a timesheet for hours, activities, regular/overtime/unpaid totals, and payroll-impact visibility. Use a time-off request for a leave period, policy balance, paid/unpaid split, and approval state. Change a leave rule or entitlement in the policy version, not in an individual request.

What to check

Each workspace exposes a visible state. Time Tracking shows Total entries, Pending review, and Average variance. Time Off separates Pending Approval from Awaiting Certification and shows approved leave on the timeline. Time Off Policies distinguishes drafts, active policies, and retired versions.

Important boundaries

These screens capture and validate customer-entered records. They do not by themselves prove legal entitlement or replace payroll-owner review. Confirm how approved time records affect the selected payroll run before finalising payroll.
