Choose an off-cycle payroll purpose
Select the special-run purpose that matches the payment and its service dates.
Choose the purpose when setting up an off-cycle run. It changes which employees and inputs are eligible and whether the run includes ordinary wages and time-based work. The run also needs a title, service dates, intended payday, and a close-by deadline. Its statutory effective date follows the service-period end.
| Purpose shown in Paydae | Use it for | Calculation boundary |
|---|---|---|
| General adjustment | A documented one-time supplemental payment that fits no more specific purpose. | Enter explicit supplemental transactions; ordinary salary and time-based wages are not repeated. |
| Bonus or incentive | A bonus, performance award, or incentive. | Enter the intended supplemental item; ordinary wages, recurring deductions, and time off are not repeated. |
| Final settlement or dismissal | Final pay for an employee leaving the organisation. | Eligible service dates can include ordinary wages or approved hours plus explicit final-pay items. Confirm termination facts first. |
| Backpay or arrears | Outstanding wages for earlier service dates. | Use the original-period allocation for salary backpay. A change to wages already calculated requires the source run’s correction path. |
| Missed wages | Wages for an eligible employee omitted from an earlier payroll. | Uses the relevant historical service dates and duplicate-coverage checks. If the whole period was never processed, use its regular schedule occurrence. |
| Reimbursement | Repayment of eligible employee expenses. | Enter reimbursement transactions; ordinary salary and time-off entries are not repeated. |
Payroll adjustment, Payroll correction, and Payroll reversal appear as disabled choices in the ordinary off-cycle picker. They require a source-linked workflow that retains the original run and its evidence. Do not use General adjustment to stand in for one of those operations.
Off-cycle service ranges are limited to one calendar month. Select eligible employees for that purpose and period, then enter only the transactions the run needs. For the full creation flow, see Start an off-cycle payroll run.
