Manage the ZIMDEF training levy
Review employer applicability, wage-bill evidence, monthly declaration, and remittance.
Set up and review2 sections
ZIMDEF describes a training levy based on the employer’s monthly gross wage bill. Paydae uses the organisation’s recorded applicability and the applicable statutory pack to calculate the employer liability. The employer must review the declaration and handle any official remittance.
Set up and review
- Record registration and applicability
In the organisation statutory profile, record the ZIMDEF registration and an explicit applicability decision. Enter any supporting exemption evidence where applicable.
- Review wage-bill evidence
Review the pay run’s wage-bill basis and generated ZIMDEF employer liability. Confirm the pack and currency context; do not treat the levy as an employee deduction.
- Choose the declaration month
Open Documents → Statutory Filings → ZIMDEF training levy declaration, select the Declaration month, and review the discovered finalised payroll sources and validation.
- Enter reviewed adjustments
Enter shortfall and surcharge only when supported by reviewed evidence. Blank means no adjustment; an explicit zero records a reviewed zero.
- Generate and verify the PDF
Generate and save the PDF after resolving blockers. Compare the month, wage bill, levy, adjustments, and total with source payroll and the organisation’s records.
- Complete the external action
Complete any required declaration and remittance through the approved ZIMDEF channel. Retain the authority response and payment proof separately from the generated PDF.
What to check each period
Confirm current ZIMDEF registration and applicability, gross wage bill, levy basis, currency, period, any shortfall or surcharge, and the applicable official process. Check the current authority notice for deadlines rather than relying on a past month’s date.
