Use an off-cycle run for a bonus, final settlement, backpay, missed amount, or another documented one-off purpose. It references the relevant service period, derives its statutory effective date from the service-period end, and follows the same preview/finalisation boundary as a regular run. It is not a substitute for another scheduled regular occurrence.

Before you begin

Select the organisation, reference service period, employees, business reason, and close-by deadline if applicable. The statutory effective date is derived from the service-period end; confirm that the compatible pack covers that date. The close-by deadline remains a separate operational deadline.

Steps

  1. Open Payroll and choose “Open bonus payroll”, “Open off-cycle payroll”, or “Open dismissal payroll” as appropriate.
  2. In off-cycle setup, choose the purpose that matches the payment: “General adjustment”, “Bonus or incentive”, “Final settlement or dismissal”, “Backpay or arrears”, “Missed wages”, or “Reimbursement”. The purpose controls eligible inputs and employees; see Choose an off-cycle payroll purpose.
  3. Do not select disabled “Payroll adjustment”, “Payroll correction”, or “Payroll reversal” choices in this wizard. Those are source-linked operations that must retain the original run and adjustment evidence.
  4. Review included employees, earnings, hours where relevant, reimbursements, and transaction details. Confirm the service-period-end statutory effective date and the separate operational deadline.
  5. Select “Save progress”, then “Continue” through the remaining steps to “Review & Finalise”. Supplemental bonus, general, and reimbursement runs do not apply ordinary wages or time-off entries. Resolve any transaction setup blockers or exchange-rate messages shown by the wizard.
  6. Select “Preview payroll”. Check the backend totals and statutory pack identity, then finalise only after reviewing the calculation and run context.
  7. In “Confirmation”, check “Finalised”, the reference, and the read-only message.

What to check

The payroll history row identifies the run as “Off-Cycle Payroll” and shows the purpose. The finalised review retains the run’s calculation snapshot and generated outputs. More than one off-cycle run may exist for a period; use the run ID and purpose to distinguish them.

Important boundaries

Off-cycle preparation finalises directly after a current backend preview; it does not add an approval button to the wizard. The payroll review screen may show “Approve payroll” when the run’s available actions include it. Paydae prepares the result and files; the customer reviews and submits through the applicable official channel.

Common problems

Selected pack does not cover the service-period end

Resolve statutory pack applicability before calculating.

Adjustment, correction, or reversal option is disabled

Retain the source-linked workflow rather than creating a general payment.

Transaction setup blocker appears

Follow the action center to the relevant transaction definition or input.
