Onboard a bureau workspace
Create a bureau portfolio and optionally configure its first client organisation.
Steps2 sections
A bureau workspace can finish with no client or create its first client during onboarding. Each client’s employees, payroll, documents and statutory evidence remain in that client’s organisation.
Steps
- Choose a new bureau workspace
Read and acknowledge the local data notice. At Choose how to start, select Create New Workspace. Then choose I manage payroll for multiple clients.
- Establish entitlement and owner access
Use Local trial or an eligible existing local entitlement. Create the local workspace owner. Save the Master recovery code outside this computer and confirm that it was saved.
- Create the bureau profile
Complete Create the bureau workspace profile. Bureau identity and defaults belong to the workspace; client payroll records belong to separate organisations.
- Decide whether to add the first client
At Decide whether to add the first client now, select Add the first client now or Skip client creation for now. Skipping proceeds to backup setup; the bureau can add a client later.
- Configure a first client if selected
Complete Create the first client organisation, Configure the first client’s pay schedule, and Confirm first client statutory payroll release. The selected release must cover the first service period.
- Choose backup setup and finish
Choose Configure automatic backups or Remind me later. Review the readiness summary and select Enter workspace.
After onboarding
An empty bureau uses Workspace Admin → Organisations to register its first client. Select a client before using organisation-scoped modules. Add its employees from Employees after onboarding; the former employee onboarding pages now lead to backup setup. Review each client’s payroll and statutory readiness separately.
