PAYE overview
Understand how Paydae presents PAYE calculations and review evidence without making a filing claim.
Prepare accurate payroll3 sections
PAYE is tax withheld from employee remuneration. Paydae calculates it from payroll facts and the exact signed pack captured by the run. Compliance → Tax Preview is a detached, non-posting scenario; the finalised payroll and its evidence govern the actual employer period.
Prepare accurate payroll
Review employer tax registration, employee identity and tax-year decisions, taxable earnings and benefits, allowable deductions, credits where the chosen method permits them, and currency. The payroll review separates employee PAYE and AIDS levy from employer liabilities. Check the run’s statutory effective date and captured pack before comparing results.
ZIMRA publishes tax tables by currency and period. Confirm the applicable official table and current guidance rather than copying a rate into a permanent support article. See ZIMRA tax tables and PAYE explained.
Understand the tax method
FDS and Non-FDS have different tax-year treatment. The employee’s recorded annual PAYE decision and payroll evidence determine the available method; do not change a generated workbook label to switch populations. ZIMRA describes separate FDS and Non-FDS employee uploads but one consolidated employer PAYE return. See ZIMRA’s Non-FDS guidance and Review annual PAYE decision.
FDS forecasting in detached Tax Preview uses actual taxable income to date and expected regular taxable pay for remaining months. It does not forecast future one-off bonuses, overtime, leave payments, or fluctuating commission. A scenario preview does not change payroll or establish a filing amount.
Manage the employer obligation
Open Calendar → PAYE work to track the employer account and period. Reconcile all relevant finalised payroll runs, prepare FDS and Non-FDS earnings evidence, and review the consolidated return. Keep the official filing receipt separate from payment transfer and authority allocation evidence. Correct rejected or amended work through the period’s Corrections flow.
Paydae’s P2 report remains useful as an internal PAYE working schedule for consultants and accountants. ZIMRA’s TaRMS PAYE return is the official filing workflow; the P2 report’s name does not establish that a file was submitted. The P16 report is also an internal reconciliation, not an ITF16 return.
