Review local file exports
Check recorded file saves and distinguish them from generated document records.
What the log shows4 sections
Open Documents → Local Export Log after saving a generated document to a local destination. The log helps you check what the app recorded about a file write; it does not replace checking the actual destination.
What the log shows
Entries can show the file name, destination label, format, actor, time, status, and recorded hash where available. Compare the entry with the generated document’s type, period or run, and generation time in its owning Documents area.
Review a save
- Find the save
Find the file in Local Export Log by its displayed name or time.
- Check the record
Review the actor, format, destination label, status, and hash if present.
- Verify the actual file
Open the chosen local folder and confirm the expected file exists and can be read.
- Return to the source if needed
Open the generated document or report archive to preview or save it again.
Understand the difference
A generated document remains in Documents even when you do not save a separate copy. Cancelling a save writes no file to the selected destination, but does not necessarily undo the generation that happened first. The app may report that a file was saved while recording the audit or export-log entry failed. In that case, verify the actual file and retain the warning for review; do not assume the log is complete.
The log records local file actions. It does not show that a bank processed a payment, a regulator accepted a filing, or an external recipient received the file.
Common problems
No log entry appears
check the save result. If it reported an audit failure, inspect the selected folder and retain the warning.
A log entry exists but the file is missing
recheck the destination and local permissions; use the generated record to save another copy when appropriate.
The wrong organisation or period appears
return to the source document and verify its scope before sharing or using the file.
