NSSA’s Pension and Other Benefits Scheme (POBS) uses employee and employer contributions. Accident Prevention and Workers’ Compensation (APWCS) is an employer premium based on registered industry and assessed rate. Treat their calculation and official records separately.

Set up the employer and employees

  1. Record employer facts

Record the employer’s NSSA identifier and explicit APWCS applicability in the organisation statutory profile. If APWCS applies, enter the classification and rate evidence required by the selected pack. Do not invent an industrial code or rate.

  2. Check employee coverage

Check employee identity, NSSA number, employment dates, and scheme coverage. Register new employment and report ceased or changed employment through the NSSA self-service process where required.

  3. Review payroll liabilities

Review payroll readiness and the exact pack used by the run. Confirm employee and employer contribution lines and any APWCS employer liability.

Review the monthly contribution

Use Documents → Statutory Filings → NSSA P4 contribution upload and select the Contribution month. Review the discovered finalised source runs, covered and skipped employees, contribution totals, and issues. Generate the XLSX only after validation allows it.

The Paydae XLSX is contribution data. NSSA says its P4 form is obtained and filed through the employer self-service portal; confirm its current format and requirements before using Paydae data. NSSA also distinguishes the P4A remittance advice, employee registration or cessation records, and APWCS wage declaration. Paydae’s generated P4 is not proof that those other actions are complete.

Complete and retain external evidence

Follow the current NSSA process for submission and payment. Keep the portal acknowledgement, payment proof, period, employer number, and any correction with the local review record. Verify the applicable ceiling, contribution rate, coverage, and deadline from current NSSA material and the pack effective for that period.
